Mike Pertzborn, a graduate of Buena Vista University and Des Moines native, started selling Life insurance in 1972. Mike joined Steve Stille and Tim Pierce in 1981, forming the Stille Pierce & Pertzborn Insurance Agency. With over forty years of experience under his belt, Mike takes a hands on approach for his clients, writing both Property and Casualty policies for personal and commercial, as well as individual and group Life and Health policies. Mike and his wife, Roxi, are active in the Storm Lake community and enjoy spending time with their children and grandchildren.

Tom has been a loyal colleague and friend at SP&P for over 20 years. Tom and his team proudly serve 250 commercial and personal clients throughout Northwest Iowa and the Storm Lake area. Tom is originally from Northern Minnesota, but he and his wife have called Storm Lake home since 1995. Tom’s wife, Cindy, teaches at Storm Lake Elementary School and they have three children – twin daughters who will be starting their sophomore year at the University of Northern Iowa, and a son who will be a sophomore at Storm Lake High School. When Tom is not at SP&P, he is a member of the Storm Lake Sports Boosters and is also an active member of St. Mark Lutheran church. Tom is looking forward to working with his new partners and serving his existing and new clients.

Mike is a 4th generation insurance agent and has 13 years of experience of which the majority of it spent in large commercial P&C. Prior to Insurance Mike went to University of Northern Iowa and graduated with a degree in Finance. Mike is also a Veteran of the war in Iraq and served 6 years in the Marine Corps. He enjoys working with his family members in the agency and all the staff that are essentially his extended family. Outside of work Mike loves spending time with this Wife and 2 children, boating, working on the acreage, hunting and golfing even though he is a horrible golfer. 

Tony was born and raised in Storm Lake, Iowa and graduated from The University of Northern Iowa. He spent four years in the insurance industry in Denver, Colorado before moving back to Storm Lake to join Stille Pierce & Pertzborn. He is licensed in all lines of insurance with his primary focus on employee benefits. In his free time he enjoys spending time with family, boating, hunting and watching sports. 

Howard Hatlelid, a Minnesota native, has sixty years of insurance experience. He has lived in the Storm Lake area since 1964 and celebrates life with his wife, Shirley, his three daughters, nine grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. Howard gained experience in Loss Control, Property and Casualty underwriting, and marketing during his tenure with Federated Insurance. He joined the SPP family in 1992 selling Property and Casualty insurance for both personal and commercial lines, Life and Health policies, and is the only producer in the office who sells Long Term Care policies.

Mike Cadwell has thirty-six years of experience in Property and Casualty insurance and the Life and Health industry. He worked with Federated Insurance for twenty-six years before taking early retirement and joining the SPP crew in 2007. Mike officiated High School Football for 17 years and High School and College Basketball for 30 years. He remains involved as an Observer of Officials for the Great Plains Athletic Conference and the Summit League. He loves time with his grandchildren and family and is still under the “illusion” that he can improve his golf game.

With thirty-nine years of experience under his belt and a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation, Clark Fort focuses on the commercial and personal lines of insurance for SPP. A Storm Lake native, Clark enjoys the outdoors, participating in triathlons, and of course, spending time with his wife and daughter.

Jared was born and raised in Storm Lake and graduated from Storm Lake High School in 2008. After High School, Jared attended Iowa State University where he graduated in 2012. Jared obtained his insurance license in 2014 and specializes in Commercial and Farm/Ag Insurance. Jared and his wife Melanie reside in Storm Lake with their son, Bennett. When Jared is not at SP&P, you can find him outdoors enjoying hunting, fishing, golfing or boating on the lake. Jared looks forward to growing SP&P and developing new and servicing existing relationships. 

Ron Halverson, a graduate of Upper Iowa University, joined SPP October 2022.  Ron has 22 years of experience in Property & Casualty, Commercial, and Life/Health insurance. Ron and his wife, Dondee, live in Cherokee, Iowa. Dondee is the OR manager at Cherokee Regional Medical Center in Cherokee. They have 3 children and 5 grandchildren. Outside of work and spending time with grandchildren, Ron likes to hunt, fish, play cards, and play golf. Ron is excited to continue to work in the Cherokee and surrounding area to help people understand insurance and provide the appropriate coverages to protect what is important to them. Building relationships with clients and making sure their needs are met is his top priority.  

Ty was born and raised in Storm Lake and graduated from Buena Vista University in 2010. Ty worked for 8 years in the insurance industry in Southwest, Iowa before moving back to Storm Lake in 2018. Ty specializes in employee benefits but will also be writing Property and Casualty policies for personal and commercial clients. Ty and her husband, Jared, reside in Storm Lake with there two children, Jace and Blake. In her free time, Ty and her family spend as much time as they can on the lake. She is excited to be a part of the SP&P family and is looking forward to helping individuals and businesses in the Storm Lake and surrounding areas. 

Sam joined the SPP team in early 2023 along with his younger brothers, Abe and Isaiah Yoder. He is a values driven individual who takes the responsibility of protecting and caring for his clients as his highest priority. Prior to joining the SPP family, he was a college wrestler for Iowa State University where he studied accounting and business management. Sam is also a United States Marine combat veteran, and served multiple tours of duty in Iraq. During his time in the Marines, he met and became good friends with Mike Pertzborn II. Sam is licensed in all lines of Insurance and has a professional background in Mortgage Lending and Real Estate. Sam lives in Ankeny, IA with his wife Ashley and their 5 children. Outside of work he enjoys coaching his boys in wrestling and golf.

Abe and his brothers joined SPP in early 2023. Prior to insurance, Abe was a successful high school wrestler, and became a United States Marine where he served for 6 years. During that time, he also attended Iowa State University. Abe and his wife Ashley reside in Ankeny, IA where they hope to grow a family and bring SPP values and services to the Des Moines area. He is licensed in all lines of insurance, with his primary focus on personal and commercial insurance. He brings the same level of commitment and discipline from his wrestling and military background to help meet the needs of his clients. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and family, (all 12 siblings and 33 nephews and nieces), explaining to his younger brother Isaiah why the Marine Corps is better than the Army, and all things related to the complicated game of golf.
